Most patients require two treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Your exact plan will be discussed during your medical consultation, as skin quality and goals vary.
Many patients notice improved hydration and skin glow within a few days. Collagen and elastin stimulation develops gradually, with the best results visible after 4–8 weeks following the second session.
Profhilo is generally well tolerated. Treatment is performed using a small number of precise injection points, and most patients describe only mild discomfort or brief stinging rather than pain.
Downtime is minimal. You may experience small bumps, redness, or mild tenderness at injection sites, which typically settle within 24–48 hours. Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately.

Following your clinical assessment and treatment, you may notice small, temporary bumps at the injection sites. These are perfectly normal and typically settle within 6–24 hours as the hyaluronic acid integrate into the tissue. Please avoid touching the area, applying makeup, or strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours to prevent infection and ensure optimal settling.
To minimize the risk of bruising or swelling, we recommend avoiding alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications (like Ibuprofen) for 48 hours. Please also avoid extreme heat, such as saunas, steam rooms, or sunbeds. As a GP-led clinic, we prioritize your safety; staying hydrated with plenty of water will help maximize the hydrating effects of your skin booster
While some luminosity is visible immediately, the full bio-remodelling effect of Profhilo or alternative skin Booster develops over 4–8 weeks. We advise avoiding other facial treatments (like peels or microneedling) for 2 weeks. Dr. Chi remains available for any post-treatment queries to ensure you are supported throughout your journey.
Serious complications are extremely rare in a doctor-led setting, but immediate contact is required if you experience significant pain, skin mottling (a dusky or purple appearance), or extreme heat in the treated area. You will be provided with an aftercare sheet containing our emergency contact details.
